Amon Martin is an asset and planning manager who leads effective adaptation planning. He has 20-years’ experience in managing the risks associated with climate related hazards, including management of flood protection infrastructure. He has a focus on big picture planning to create resilient and socially vibrant communities as our world changes.
Amon is currently at Thames-Coromandel District Council (New Zealand), an area with over 400km of coastline. He is leading Council’s coastal adaptations project, a three-year project to empower communities to plan for the impacts of climate change. He provides a hands-on practitioner’s perspective on engaging communities through the use of Dynamic Adaptive Pathway Planning.
