Felipe is a geographer who acts as City Information Director at Instituto Pereira Passos – IPP, Rio de Janeiro city’s autarchy responsible for data, information and knowledge management. Felipe has experience in climate change science, with a focus on sea level rise and GHG emissions monitoring, and GIS tools. Felipe is responsible for the recently created Climate Change Monitoring System (SISCLIMA), an information management framework designed to generate new and gather existing information and knowledge related to climate change in Rio de Janeiro. Felipe also coordinates a unique partnership between the City of Rio and NASA, designed to support innovative efforts to better understand, anticipate, and monitor natural hazards and climate change impacts.
