I have been working as a Professor at Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) since 2008. As a research fellow at DPRI, Kyoto University, we explored indigenous techniques for sediment management which is being practiced for river management.
As a Principal Investigator of a number of large transdisciplinary research projects funded by different international agencies, I had the opportunity to explore the related issues of climate change adaptations in deltas. The system level models developed through these initiatives are being utilized in the mainstream decision-making processes for planning, development, warning and adaptations.
